The self-validation activity involves using digital biometrics to authenticate the identities of beneficiaries at designated validation sites across the country. Assisted households are invited via SMS to validate their e-cards at the nearest validation site, and at least one registered household member over the age of 18 must attend. This process is conducted quarterly, and failing to attend the validation could put their assistance at risk.

What is the purpose of physical validation and why is it important to attend?

The purpose of the validation exercise is to ensure that the Red Card is in the hands of the right people. Attending physical validation two times per year with UNHCR, and four times a year with WFP is required in order to be selected for or to continue to receive assistance provided by UNHCR and WFP.

Information for beneficiaries invited to validation by WFP:

  • You can do the validation at 140 different Liban Post or Cash United locations as specified in the SMS. This activity is free of charge.

If you do not attend card validation, your assistance may be suspended. In case you or any family member were unable to attend the validation due to specific circumstances, for example mobility issues, you must call UNHCR or WFP to report why and schedule a new time to validate:

  • If you have been invited for validation by WFP, please call 1526

  • If you have been invited for validation by UNHCR, please call 04-726111

  • If you suspect that you should have received a validation invitation SMS but did not, please call WFP on 1526 or UNHCR on 04-726111
